The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the European Broadcasting Union(EBU) signed a contract for the Olympic broadcast rights for Europe and for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
The agreement covers 51 countries, excluding Italy, and a wide range of media categories, including for the first time multi-media and mobile telephony.
The agreement is valued at $746 million – an increase of about 40 per cent from the previous contract.
