Beijing Promotes Its 2008 Bid

Beijing seems to be promoting its bid by pushing American culture down under.

The city is screening slick videos showing happy children eating McDonald’s hamburgers and playing U.S. football in immaculate city streets.

And they’re also highlighting their biggest celebrities, including a winner of four Olympic gold medals, to help lobby for the Games.

Meanwhile, back home, slogans reading “providing high-quality service for Beijing’s bid” can be seen on more than 9,000 Beijing buses.
