Beijing 2008 says that as of December 4, 760,000 people had registered as volunteers for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Also there are more than 830,000 applicants for the volunteer city services.
A BOCOG official said that about 30,000 volunteers have already participated in the services for the Good Luck Beijing Sport events – a series of competitions taking place in 2007 and part of 2008 to assess the preparatory work for the Games and the volunteer services for the city.
Campus applicants are now undergoing psychological assessment and tests to check their ability to speak English and their range of knowledge.
