Beijing 2008 will begin recruiting volunteers online in August said Li Shixin, who is in charge of the volunteers program at the Beijing 2008 Games.
He told a press conference that good volunteers are an important factor to ensure the success of the 2008 Games.
Meanwhile the first outlet selling Beijing 2008 Olympic-licensed products outside Mainland China opened Friday in Macao.
Yuan Bin, director of the Beijing 2008 Marketing Department said, “the Olympic licensing program is an important part of the Olympic Marketing Plan. Olympic licensed products not only serve as the carriers that wide spread the Olympic spirit and build brand image of the Beijing Olympics, but also provide a platform for competitive national enterprises to participate in the Olympics and engage into the world market, which bring along huge Olympic opportunities”.
Most of the souvenirs, badges and suits sold featuring the Beijing Olympic Mascots are limited editions with the designs reflecting upon the concept of “high-tech Olympics”.
