One of four soccer venues for the Beijing 2008 Summer Games is being constructed in the northern Chinese port city of Qinhuangdao. The stadium has a capacity for 35,000 people.
Huang Rong, vice-mayor of the Hebei Province city said the stadium “will be fully in accordance with the requirements of the Olympic Games and be completed in May 2004”.
The stadium is part of a giant sports complex which also features a gymnasium, an aquatic centre, a sports academy and a hotel.
