Beijing 2008 Gets Inspected, Equestrian Agreement

The first Olympic test event for the Beijing 2008 Summer Games – the Softball World Championship at the Fengtai Softball Center – was inspected by a four member International Olympic Committee (IOC) observation group. They checked the two competition fields, and the athlete medication station within Field One asking questions about the entrance security check, the volunteers, media service, the spectators’ entrance and the TV broadcast coverage.

Meanwhile Hong Kong and Beijing signed a document Thursday on the arrangements for the 2008 equestrian events, said the Home Affairs Bureau. The arrangements include the provision of an internationally recognized equine quarantine protocol, a safe and well-orderly society, and a system that facilitates smooth entry to and departure out of Hong Kong, to ensure a smooth running of equestrian events. The document outlines arrangements for matters including security, immigration, and transport.
