Austria has recently invested large sums into modernizing the sports venues in Innsbruck, and a star architect has designed the highly acclaimed new Bergisel-Skijump, which could help Innsbruck, who along with Salzburg, will make technical presentations to the Austrian Olympic Committee to become Austria’s candidate city for the 2004 Winter Olympic Games.
Also, the Olympic Bobsleigh track and Ice Hockey main stadium have been renovated.
