The first phase of ticket sales for the Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games which was launched on May 12 ended on June 12. The results were presented at a press conference Wednesday at Athens 2004 headquarters.
The total value of orders in this phase, which amounts to 46,999,820 euros as against a target of 20 million euros (135 per cent over anticipated sales) were considered satisfactory.
The number of tickets applied for amounted to 591,112 as against a target of 300,000 (97 per cent over).
Greek people ordered about 82 per cent of the tickets and the remaining ones were sold mostly in Europe.
