A spokesman for the Athens 2004 Organizing Committee told the Associated Press that there was “no way” ticket prices for the Athens 2004 Summer Games will be reduced. He said ticket prices would remain the same throughout all the pre-Olympic sales periods.
Last week Greece’s Deputy Culture Minister suggested that she might ask Olympic officials to cut ticket prices to try to fill the stadiums during the Games.
Organizers have said about three million tickets remained unsold from a total of 5.3 million – 2.3 million of which are reserved for International Olympic Committee officials, sponsors and dignitaries.
