Greece is getting a $1.5 billion loan from the European Investment Bank which will fund a variety of projects for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, including the construction of stadiums, roads, security and health services.
Reports say the government has insisted its 2004 budget of $4.4 billion remains unchanged, despite staggering security costs and venue delays. Security at the 2004 Games is set to cost a record $600 million.
