The Bulgarian Olympic Committee and the Sofia 2014 Winter Olympic Games bid committee announced a new art competition Monday to promote the Olympic movement and Sofia’s 2014 Olympic bid.
The competition is directed to the youth of Bulgaria and is open to all 14-19 year olds inviting them to submit original painting or drawings under the theme of “Lets do it Together”.
Stefka Kostadinova, President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee said, “we have very strong community support for our Sofia 2014 bid. This art competition is the first of many plans we have to ensure the community has the opportunity to participate directly in the bid process and show their support for the Games. Our bid is not just about bringing the Games to Bulgaria. We are determined to use the bid process itself to build awareness and support for the Olympic movement and increase sport participation”.
The competition closes on June 15 and the winners will be announced at a special event shortly after.
