A third 2010 Winter Olympic Games applicant, Andorra la Vella, has released it’s Mini Bid-Book online. Berne and Jaca both released their versions of the document earlier this month.
The mini bid-book is a response to an IOC questionnaire that asks specific questions about an applicant’s plan to organize the Games. Andorra submitted their mini bid-book last month.
In their response, Andorra revealed plans to hold the 2010 Games between February 5 and February 21. Some venues, such as the bobsleigh, would be located in France and the closest main international airport is in Barcelona, Spain. Andorra with a population of only 67,000 people is the smallest country to ever bid for the Olympic Games.
The Andorra Bid Committee reports that over 80% of the public support their bid and 84% believe it will have a positive impact. The bid is 30% publicly supported and will cost US$2.8 Million.
