The Andorran parish of Andorra la Vella is officially bidding for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, because the State of Andorra cannot bid. Only cities are allowed to bid for Olympic Games.
The government has made an agreement with the Mayor of Andorra la Vella, Conxita Mora, to submit her city as a candidate.
Marc Forne, the Andorran Executive Council President, said if Andorra la Vella is not selected for 2010, it will immediately start the bidding process for 2014.
Cities now bidding for the 2010 Winter Games include a Spanish city (either Granada or Jaca), Bern, Salburg, Vancouver and Sarajevo.
