Should Abuja 2014 host the Commonwealth Games, Diamil Faye, CEO of JAPPO S.A. and a consultant for Abuja 2014 told GamesBids.com that athletes would receive free air tickets, free accommodation and free meals.
Two business class tickets would be provided for the Presidents and Secretaries General of each Commonwealth Games Association for use between 2008 and 2014, and they would also receive free hotel rooms during the Games.
Also each CGA would be given free tickets for the Youth Camp, free board and lodging and internal transport for 20 youths from each CGA attending the Youth Camp, and a training grant of U.S. $125,000 will be provided for each CGA.
Faye told GamesBids.com that the Games Village, all venues, and accommodation would be located in a 10 km radius.
He added, “we know it is not about strength only and we still have five months to turn our weakness into strength”.
Abuja is competing against Glasgow for the event.
