A New York 2016 Bid Still Possible

Listeners to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s weekly radio show heard comments from the mayor, which may lead them to believe a New York bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games was still possible.

The New York Post reports the mayor said “you know (Deputy Mayor Dan) Docotoroff spent 10 years of his life (to prepare the 2012 bid) and it’s an enormous sacrifice and now he and I have other things to do and I don’t know whether or not we as a country will have a team. Probably”.

The Post reports he added a “tantalizing” postscript. “Would New York City try to be that team? It’s premature to tell”.
