Ria Novosti reports that the latest surveys show that 90 per cent of Muscovites and 89 per cent of Russians want Moscow to host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Pyotr Vasilyev, the director of Moscow 2012, denied allegations that Moscow was in last place, citing that the recent International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) evaluation commission report didn’t make any reference to it.
He said the Russian sports community expects the IOC to take a positive decision on Russia at the host city election.
