2012 Bid Cities Have To Report To IOC Ethics Commission

The five cities bidding for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games – London, Paris, New York, Madrid and Moscow – will be receiving a letter from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Ethics Commission asking for details of meetings and events attended by bid team personnel in the last year.

The request has been prompted by the recent Panorama documentary shown by the BBC, which featured the secret filming of four agents claiming that IOC votes could be bought.

Keith Mills, head of London’s 2012 bid said, “London has nothing to hide on any trip we’ve made and are happy to supply any such details to the Ethics Commission.

“There are currently no rules about meeting IOC members and I’m sure the intention is to clarify the regulations for all bidding cities. London is being related no different from any of the other competitors”, said Mills.
