The Olympic Torch, which will travel around the world under the theme “pass the flame, unite the world”, will, after the lighting ceremony in Olympia Greece, visit more than 25 countries and 30 cities.
In Asia the torch will visit Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Delhi.
An Indian newspaper reports that the flame will arrive in Delhi on June 10, 2004. The relay will last for between six and eight hours and will involve about 100 individual torchbearers and runners.
India’s Lt. Governor has asked officials to sensitize the youth of India about the Games and the spirit of the Olympics.
It will be the first time the Olympic torch will make an appearance in India.
