Toronto Councillors Asked To Endorse Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Bid

The Canadian Press reports Toronto councillors will be asked Monday to endorse Toronto’s bid for the 2015 Pan American Games.

According to the Canadian Press a report going to an “influential” committee recommends Toronto city councillors endorse hosting the Pan Am’s and authorize negotiations to bring the bid together.

Toronto’s Mayor David Miller has “cautiously” supported the bid, as long as the federal government and the province of Ontario provide funding.

If Toronto council endorses the bid a more detailed report in February will help lay out a venue plan and provide details on financial, social, economic and infrastructure implications, reports the Canadian Press.
