Toronto 2015 bid representatives announced Friday they are ready for the final presentation to the Pan American Sport Organization (PASO) in Guadalajara, Mexico next week. The delegation is attending the General Assembly November 4-6 when the final presentations by each of the three cities bidding for the 2015 Pan American Games – Bogota, Colombia, Lima, Peru, and Toronto, Canada – will be made on Friday November 6.
The presentations will be one hour long followed by up to 20 minutes of questions and answers.
Toronto 2015 Bid Chair David Peterson said, “we are ready. We have put together an excellent presentation and a terrific delegation, but won’t stop working until the final decision is announced”.
The Toronto 2015 delegation is being led by Ontario’s Premier Dalton McGuinty, who will be joined by senior officials from the federal, provincial and municipal governments, as well as senior Olympic Committee officials and key business leaders, said a press release.
A new Canadian Tenors song, created and composed by Tenors to provide a “unique and power anthem” for the bid, was also released. The song is titled Your Moment is Here.
