Sochi 2014 announced the start of a nation-wide project to organize Sochi 2014 live sites in Russia’s major cities. The sites selected will be traditional celebration areas in Russia’s city centres, said a press release.
They will be equipped with large screens, sound, light, and a stage for people to watch the Games and experience the atmosphere and celebration of the victories of Russian athletes.
Krasnodar and Sochi are among the first cities to join the program, and the first sites will be opened in those cities to coincide with the London 2012 Summer Games.
It’s expected that 30 million people will visit the Sochi 2014 live sites, giving almost every family in Russia an opportunity to feel part of the Games.
