Africans Should Support Abuja’s 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid – Delegates

African delegates, in Abuja inspecting facilities should Abuja host the 2014 Commonwealth Games, said in this era of globalization Africa, and indeed Africans, should take their destiny in their hands by voting unanimously for Nigeria.

Gambia’s Alhaji Touray Abdullah M said the Abuja 2014 Commonwealth Games bid is Africa’s bid, which must be supported by all the Commonwealth member countries in Africa, reports allAfrica.com. He said, Nigeria has what it takes to host the 2014 Games, we want Nigeria to maintain, the momentum, we have all resolved that Abuja should be given the chance to host the Games. “Come November 9 all the African delegates will vote for Abuja.

“If the motto of the Commonwealth Games is equality, destiny and humanity, it is logical that the 2014 Commonwealth Games be given to the most populous nation in Africa. Abuja is a representation of Africa and they should continue to fly the African flag”.

Regional Vice President of the Commonwealth Games Federation representing Africa, Alhaji Touray, said the delegates are impressed with the facilities already on ground. “We are touched and happy with what we have seen and promised that all the CGA’s from Africa will vote for the Abuja bid”.

According to allAfrica.com Dr. Amos Adamu, who represented the Minister of Sports/Chairman, National Sports Commission, said Nigeria has the facilities, experience, technical know how, and the financial power to host the 2014 Games which is being supported by the government and the people of Nigeria.
