2010 Bid Cities Are Promoting Bids In Malta

Representatives from Salzburg, Vancouver and Pyeongchang are in Malta promoting their bids for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games at the 2003 Malta Games.

International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge will officially open the 10th Games of the Small States of Europe at the National Stadium at 6:30 p.m. local time.

More than 1,400 athletes and officials from the eight participating countries will be taking part in the opening ceremony.

Ten disciplines will be contested at this years’ Games. They are athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, judo, tennis, table tennis, squash, shooting and sailing.

According to the Malta Times, the Malta Games are attracting great interest not only from among the eight small states of Europe but also from several other countries across the continent.

More than 300 journalists will be covering the event in Malta, giving the three cities bidding for the 2010 Games a large audience to promote their bids.
